The Timber Preservers Association of Australia
Mission
To provide a peak national organisational structure
which represents the best interests of the timber
preservation industry by being recognised and referred to
for its credibility, its foresight and its assertive
action in all matters relating to the preservative
treatment of timber.
Business Objectives
- To attract a membership comprising the majority of
Australian timber treatment plants along with any other
companies, organisations or departments. which have an
active interest in timber preservation.
- To provide a secretariat, with a national address
and contact, which provides for the daily operation of
the business requirements of TPAA as determined by its
National Council.
- To facilitate the operation of a Technical
Committee capable of addressing any technical issues
affecting the timber preservation industry and with the
power to co-opt expertise as deemed necessary.
- To facilitate Research and Development into timber
preservation and treatment throughout all aspects of the
industry as prioritised by its National Council.
- To facilitate the implementation of a National
Product Certification Scheme which addresses compliance
with both timber treatment penetration and retention
levels and appropriate timber grades for end use
applications.
- To provide a communication network which conveys
the activities of TPAA to its members, the timber
preservation and associated industries and organisations
and their customers and any other interested parties.
- To provide a financial framework which delivers the objectives
of the Association as agreed to by the members.
